last weekend was my self-proclaimed long weekend, coz i was fortunate enough to get the allocation for Friday and Monday. i initially filed for Friday only to prepare for the concert weekend, but also decided to get the Monday off for the heck of it. 

kicked it off on a Friday afternoon, Mom and i went to Alabang Town Center for an early dinner and some window shopping. while there, i confirmed with Anthony that we'll be included on the VIP guest list and that we just needed to bring a valid ID with photo. and so the long-awaited Saturday came, and i left home at about quarter to 6pm to compensate for the traffic. arrived in Makati at about 6:45pm, [concert was slated to start at 8pm] but was surprised to see the long-ass queue on the jeepney going to the Fort. after about 30 minutes of standing in line and going round in circles, i finally was able to board a jeep. went to Market! Market! first to grab a quick meal, and wait for my other companion [Darwin] to the concert. after eating, we walked to the venue, and the countdown had already started. the monitor stated that it was about 2 minutes left and the concert will start, and we found that the line for the VIP guest verification was looooooooooooong. having no choice, we stood in line as the concert already started. thinking that Anthony was already inside, we decided to call him and ask him where he was. Alapaap was already playing as the first song, and mishearing that Anthony was already at the gate waiting for us, we broke out of the line and went straight to the gate. frantically looking for Anthony, Ligaya, Sembreak and Hey Jay had already been played, much to the delight of screaming fans. still looking for Anthony, our feet led us to Bonifacio High Street and into Italianni's, where we found him and his date ordering dinner. He said that the line was too long and had decided to have dinner first. i was intensely pissed that time  since we were already in line and it was still moving along before we broke out of it to look for him. dejected, Darwin and I decided to just stay on the sidewalk and watch from there. we were able to watch them perform Harana, Fruitcake and Toyang on the monitor, when the overzealous security personnel told us to leave 'coz it was prohibited to stay on the sidewalk. I was already thinking of going home that time when i saw that the line for the VIP verification wasn't that long anymore, so I asked Darwin that we should go in line and try our luck. while waiting on the line, which was still crawling, the band played Kamasupra, Kailan, Huwag Kang Matakot, Kaliwete, With a Smile, Shake Yer Head, Huwag Mo Nang Itanong, then Lightyears. it was the last song, then they had a 20-minute intermission. by this time we already made it inside, and had a good place to see the 2nd set. but the supposed 20-minute intermission went by, then 30 minutes, then 40 minutes. still no band. the crowd, including us, we beginning to be restless, then 45 minutes arrived, and Markus, Buddy and Raymund got on the stage. Ely was not with them. Rayms introduced Ely's sister and said she had something to say. by this time, i, along with the rest of the audience already knew what was coming: the concert had to be cut short due to Ely being rushed to the hospital.i was clearly disappointed, but not mad or angry, 'coz it was a legitimate reason, and i already knew the circumstances and it was really logical that it had to happen. my only gripe is that i was already inside!!! it took like 8-10 announcements from the PA system that everyone should already leave 'coz there won't be any 2nd set for the concert. since it was still early, the three of us decided to go to metrowalk to hang out. the two of them had coffee at Starbucks, and then we checked out Decades. i drank most of their beer though which made me a lil' bit tipsy. afterwards we called it a night/morning, but not after "living the good life". Sunday afternoon, i had to keep a promise i made to 320, which was a first for me, and i'm pretty sure i won't go back to the plain old stuff. did nothing much on Monday but sleep.

and that was the conclusion of my long-@$$ VIP weekend. *bow*
